For the past five years, our Toronto-based bookkeeping service has been led by Rustin Smith, CPA CA. He has decades of accounting experience and leadership with KPMG and Goldman Sachs. Rustin is a firm believer in the power of cloud bookkeeping.

Our Vice President is Ricardo Ribeiro, CPA, CMA, who has a passion for helping small- and medium-sized businesses to grow. Both Rustin and Ricardo look forward to learning more about your business and helping you achieve your goals.

Our Founder

Rustin Smith is the Owner of Scalability and CloudBooks (our parent company). His career started as a CA with KPMG followed by almost ten years as a VP with Goldman Sachs in their hedge fund accounting and administration business. The entrepreneurial itch eventually got the best of him - he left Goldman to be the VP of Finance for the Toronto software startup Wave Accounting. It was at Wave that he was introduced to the world of cloud accounting and software and realized how quickly the bookkeeping and accounting world was changing.

After a couple of years with a more traditional bookkeeping and accounting firm as the CFO and COO, he discovered Scalability. Impressed with the founders, the staff and the platform, he jumped at the opportunity to get involved.

When Rustin is not busy "Scal'ing" or telling bad jokes, he coaches his son in Leaside hockey and baseball or shuttles his daughter between dance class and hockey games!  Rustin always finds some time to escape to visit family and friends in Winnipeg and Lake of the Woods (quite possibly his favourite place on earth!)
